View Full Version : Wizard Stun Question...

Its always been bugging me, how long do the stuns really last?
On monsters Actic Field stuns them for like 5-6 sec (earlier in the last update as much as the ice was on them) but after the update the ice started to break after 2 sec but the monsters still aren't moving for about 3 more sec.
In PvP i've asked my friend and he told me the stun holds for 2 sec.

So i've come to a conclusion that stun on monsters is the same 2 sec but takes them some time to re-aggro at you right?
And if you try stun the monster while hes still re-aggroing at you even if hes not stunned, the stun won't work...same for PvP , does stun have a bit of cooldown or something?
And stuns and knockdowns i've noticed that don't work if the enemy in PvP has some skill in motion.


Any other opinions on this case ?

Amazing how nobody realised it so far...

At least in pve, stun time = cool time on your stun skill.

that would mean that u could stun the mobs with just 1 spell which is not happening ;p

Atleast in cabal Europe, it is not happening..
You do not see ppl stunning mobs for 5 seconds with g.master/artic field, eh?

I never did and it was always like that that you can't stun the monster 2 times one-over-one

How about you test, the same way I tested before actually talking?

Take a stun skill, go stun a mob and see how long it takes until it moves again.

And yes, it doesn't work if you use same skill over and over because then it would be an exploit. You need 2 or 3 skills with same effect, to keep the mobs stunned 90% of the time.

that sounds kinda weird cuz if that were true then you could perma stun everyone and everything since when cooltime, therefore stuntime as you say, is finished, you can cast the spell again :S

You can stun the target with 1 spell if you meet the requirements, wich are:
1.) Stun must ware off.
2.) Target must re-aggro on you. (doesn't necesarilly have to hit you if you time it right after it re-aggros)

Any second earlier than that and the stun won't take effect...

Just like any other status in this game (debuff for example), stun works on the same principle... you cannot cast a debuff until it wears off. So you cannot stun the mobs again unless the stun wears off, which is when they re-aggro you.

But I tell you how to test the stun duration... or at least this is how i did it.

Take a skill, let's say energy field. Stun a bunch of mobs, then watch your skill cooling time and watch when they re-aggro you. You will see that they start to hit you again, around the same time when your skill has cooled down.

Change the lvl of your skill from let's say 9 to 15 or 20, and do the same thing again. Stun them, and watch cool time... they should be hitting you again when your skill has cooled and it's ready to be re-casted...

Yes i've tought about that possibility too but didn't want to count it in, meaning the higher level the skill the less the stun works.
Altough i think its only available in PvE while in PvP the stun time is always the same, i'll test these few things soon...

I'm thinking it's supposed to work the other way around =x

The thing is that, we will most likely not get a real (official, accurate) answer; what we get is only from testings... as for pvp stun, my guess is it lasts around 2-3 seconds.

so what u actually say is that stun increases along with the level of ur spell..so if u make ur gm lvl 20 u should have a single spell stunning for around 9 seconds? i dont think so ^^

On the other hand, ever tried lvl20 gm?
All stun skills are kept at lvl9 (gm,artic field, energy field)

yeap...i have tried energy field the stun time didnt increase..and i have heard for wizards that went their gm till lvl 20

Yes, it would be nice if under the enemy's hp would appeard a stun icon with how much it lasts in seconds...
