Hi guys, I'm a current WoW player looking for another game to try out and having seen Cabal in the past I'm a little interested in giving it a shot. I think one of the biggest turn offs I have about WoW and one of the reasons I'm planning to quit though is that the community on there is just terrible - if you've ever even glanced at the forums I'm sure you'd understand. Though I'm sure the opinion might be a little bias since you guys are still playing CO; what are your thoughts on the community on here? Is any Realm particularly better than another?
Hello and welcome, ZeroleTheUntamed. Well, the comunity is pretty good here tbh, there are a few rotten apples around, but nothing that cannot be handled. :)
If you want answers regarding the game, how to install it or regarding the realms(Mercury, Mars and Jupiter) ask any GA around here, and check out the guides.

I'm not sure if the forum is a good guide to see how the community is, its always the same ppl with the negative comments in there.
Best is to get in game and meet some ppl, get to talk a little, find a guild and make your friends in game.
About the servers you should join, that's all up to you, I only know Mercury as that's where i play and everyone probably thinks the server they play on is the best. All I can say is that Mercury is the oldest server around, short followed by Mars.
Jupiter is the latest addition to the server list so it might be harder to get certain items there.
But then it also might have more "lower level" players of the 3 servers (but that is just a guess).
So which server you choose, there are always nice ppl and "less nice" ppl. But on all servers you can find GA's (Game Advisors) who can help you with questions. The following thread explains how to get into contact with them.

So go try out the game and see if you like it, make friend and go have a fun time with them.
Good luck and maybe cya in game.

IMO forum is a good place for seeing the community, but not the true one.
Meaning that on forums you see mostly the elite part of what you see in game, that means players who are more interested about the game, more communicative etc. than some random guys in game whose name usually ends with TR or PL and all they can talk is "mi no speck inglish", "lol", and "noob". ;D
I'd say the community on forum is very friendly, at least I got nice welcome when I joined, instead of having to earn your place in it before they start to accept you, like I've seen in some other communities.

"me no spik inglish noooooooooob" "leearn inglish noooooob" "fak you noooooob" are most common words on people's tags ending with PL or TR tag...

If I still had that some old screenshot of mine; at the time I was guildless and some random lowbie started calling out to me with random moonspeak including my nick in his lines (later on I learned it was Polish and he was asking if I was interested in joining his guild). I told the man to speak English because I couldn't understand a word (I actually said this part nicely :3).
He then called me a noob and walked away.
...Then my name turned orange :O
