View Full Version : bot prevention perhaps just an idea

Hello,

after i had a lot trouble to keep up with the bots and saw them do their job i thought about a way to limit their possibilities.

If i'm not completely wrong as programmer, then the bots should at last need to communicate with the server and send their commands like selecting and attacking and so on too. That way with a small routine it should be possible to go through the players and check their inputs or commands, saving the last X to compare them with a bot typical behavior. At last the speed and the behavior should be usable to differentiate from human players. Drop farming is one thing but no human player is able to select not yet visible mobs and on top of that it's not possible to kill all mobs in an area as big as the range all around the character at once. I think the fact that the security system is not blocking the bots i saw is just showing that the game itself might have a better chance ... let's say like an behavior check ... not all the time to keep the speed up .. but like a control at last at important places in the game and well known bot farming spots (like the "auto cannon - ex" in fort ruina. on all servers except war ;p)

I sent a report already about a bot ... but just last night i saw that one again and i noticed a few names of suspicious acting (not talking, killstealing and all around killing) chars.

all the other servers were occupied by bots at the "auto cannon - ex" too and doing the quests on war server is a run ... so ... please if others have more names and ideas to get rid of them ...
Except the owner of those Bots i bet no one want them in the game anymore.
