isnt it obvious? :o mithril weapons amp slot (i guess +6), 2x bos+4, eos+8 (duration? ;)), 7% amp gloves, boots, suit, 30%dmg helm and any aop between +4 and +5. Or at least that fits the stats ^^ more like an educated guess on some parts hehe

I do lowered my crit dmg.
Cause from reliable dmg tests, which you all can do for yourself so I don't need to do the maths again;

I did less dmg and was more crit reliable with 2 36dmg weapons ( St blade +6 / Aqua +7 )

Now more static dmg, with even higher crits then before ( thats cause my magic rose with ~120 )

I DO still look after a eos +7 ND and a nice armourhelm with 36 dmg for a fair price, they'll sure drop in price sooner or later ;p.

Done the test's with +7 36% dmg weps and 36% dmg helm ;p. As expected tbh, but I would never go crit with these items, no crit = no dmg. Either I would need max crit stuff to raise the possibility even further and become a full luck build .. or stay the way I am and hope for 1-2 crits.

hehe good question :p and there is no longer a clear answer for it and on top of that it strikes at the very core of mFS design these days...let me elaborate.
Back in Episode1 the mithril amp build was a clear winner. Well yes crit-dmg was only half of what it is now obviously but i also refer to the missing skills. High magic and amp was needed to pierce the defense of a boss. And people like Gatz, me and ofc several others went for that build. Now in episode 2 two big factors changed...the skill mortal bane (+300magic) which you'll essentially use against (almost) every boss so the low magic problem against bosses is less of a factor then before and add the importance that Battle modes/aura currently play in the game...not only have they become more powerful stat wise due to the new rank ups, the ability to combo in bm1/aura and last but not least the wizard sp buff. All those stat boosts favor a crit-dmg build over an amp build. Even without the stat boost it does depend a lot on monster defense which build deals the most expected damage. Obviously low def favours a crit-dmg build and high def an amp build. Lets take a look at Orca in his first form (as i still have the excel data on my desktop from my last calculation in that matter ^^) the estimated defense was ~1372 (it does vary ofc). I'll sum it up and only present 3 different builds (yes i also made the full dream gear tests but thats not needed right now) for that matter and mind you this result is only valid with my current stats and lv160 rankup:

A1: Osmium Katana of Deathblow +7 (40%dmg +5magic) / Mithril Orb +6 (7% Magic Amp)
A2: Mithril Blade of Destruction +6 (+16magic 7% magic amp) / Mithril Orb +6 (7% Magic Amp)
A3: Osmium Katana of Deathblow +7 (40%dmg +5magic) / Lapis Orb of Deathblow (40%dmg +5magic)

Now the situations (dps calculation was done using a lv20 tera lance):

Normal atk: A2 > A1 > A3
bm2+aura+bane: A3 > A1 > A2
bm1+aura+bane: A1 > A2 > A3
bm2+aura: A2 > A1 > A3
bm2 (or bm1): A2 > A1 > A3

Each build has its ups and downs here...what you cant see (since i avoided using numbers) is that the gap between the crit build and amp build in the full power situation is quite huge and that in general A1 performs quite well overall and except for the normal atk situtation its only a marginal amount missing and in the bane situations its quite close to the full dmg build. Mind you this in only the final boss in FT all monsters before that have lower defense ofc and so even in the non-bm/bane situations A1 outperforms A2. Chakris in particular is best done with the crit-dmg or semi-crit-dmg build.

So where does that leave us? Well lets start with a comment on the crit-dmg builds...those require you to have quite high (mithril like) magic to be effective. So when building up a mFS it should be recommended to start with the mithril build and as you increase stat wise it might be a good idea to add some deathblow weapons in the mix. As gatz stated his dream gear in a thread a while ago 2x 7% rate 40%dmg osmium/lapis weapons make one nice set :girl_wink:

A look at korea: Lots of the top mFS there actually keep both a lapis and a mithril orb/crystal and use them depending on what is favorable in the right situations

A look in the future: Well FT b2f will be here "soon" and depending on mob def this could all change again and will be an interesting thing to adept to :) Also Mithril Orbs +7 and EOS+8...at +7 the magic boost is so high that it becomes even easier to drop the sword for a more crit-dmg oriented one. For now i'm keeping items for all kinds of builds.

A critical look at the FS db build: The results so far are mostly based on math but there is one minor problem you'll notice when playing a more DB oriented build...hp steal! :black_eye: while your crits will remaing giving you the maximum amount of hp you can get from vampiric items your non-crits will be lower and this might result in needing a higher % in hp steal items to retain the same amount of hp recovery as you had with the mithril amp build.

Ughhh just noticed how long this has become xP sorry about that lol I'll leave the pvp chapter open for another day or gatz could do it =D and as a general rule i'd try to stay away from aqua or shadowtitanium weapons on a mfs for now as you'll probably lack the magic to make them effective. So long :)

I think it's kinda lame that magic FS is so much stronger (specialy in pvp) than sFS
i mean.. FS is suppose to use sword skills for the most (he isn't a magic character bij default). Then why is he so much stronger as a magic char? I think it's a waste of the game. Just my opinion though. At any rate i'm sticking to sFS, and will proof to teh world that we rule XD *cough*, in 5 years time :declare:

My stats on this screenshot are with 2x eog+4 and pain+4(need to get better one), and no +7 item except for the suit. The higher def makes a noticeable difference in dmg received, and I "feel" no real loss in dmg done, however I aint good with calculations.

there is (hardly) no way that a jupiter player can be "the best" in one of his class, because of 2 reasons:

1. less ppl on jupiter, so less drops/good drops like uniqern's katana
2. not a single weapon/orb crafter above aqua/ST

imho, topaz is better.
Aqua just doesn't have enough magic on it to be useful with amp. Amp is good with 99+ weaps and mith.

ft time was 5 mins left with potions ... without them depends (close) but ok if the tactic is fine.

although i know it is much better to use an orb that is lower than lapiz / topaz with 2slot and a deathblow craft, but is it worth the def that you will lose from having a lower level astral shield?

because right now on our servers, i have yet to see an aqua orb of DB with 2 slot...so if il probably use an orb of db, it would be pherystin..

yes you will lose defense but little,at level 10 astral shield <Mithril Crystal/Orb>you will have 41 defense,Topaz i think 39 Defense, Lapis 33 defense.

so in my opinion try to get Mithril with amp or Crit dmg, a Topaz 2 slot is also nice ^^

thanks for the enlightenment. so if i understand your advice correctly, instead of going for a pherystin orb of DB (10% CD) with 20% on the slot, it would be much better to use a mithril with amp / crit damage. if i still can't afford that, using a 2 slotted topaz with 20% Crit Damage on the slot would do.

mith katana amp is not expensive(around 300kk)*cough*

i think when u get higher lvl you can switch to osm/lapis 36% dmg :)

Never change to osm/lapis 36 dmg. Remember, you are a mFS and what you have to do is, getting as much as amp and magic as you can. mFS are not crit-dependant characters, so they dont have to get so much crit dmg.

flying shield cast time is about 0,5 sec in combo.

only stone canon and fire canon are worth using, the rest is too low dmg together with too high cast time.

my pc is very bad, which means I have a maximum of 15 fps ingame.
when I try to combo in dungeons with a high speed combo, which includes the flying shield skill, it will most likely brake and reaching 11+ combo is impossible then.

for this situation I use a slower combo, which includes lightning lance and also aqua lance.

less dmg and dps, but best I can do with my pc.
