Free only allows you to capture 30 seconds of video before cutting you off, so yeah - you'll need to buy it if you want to make a longer video. As for editing the video, there are TONS of programs, most of which are pretty darn good. I'm an Adobe Premiere fan, but it costs a ton of money. I brought an older version (CS3) for cheap thou and it works wonders.

If you want to make videos, the program must have powerful record function. I used Fraps, and it will make the video laggy.

The one I'm using now works well on me. It can record anything happened on my screen with high quality, and save the file to standard video format file. I often use it to record video games to make demo video (http://www.screenrecord.net/how-to-make-demo-video.html) when I was playing on computer. And all my friends said that my video is good.

i have fraps full version if u guys want. for video edit u can use AFTER EFFECTS. im video editor. i know all of things about video,effects,and more.
