Are you sure you followed the whole guide and installed the client via "run as administrator" on an administrator account (or with UAC disabled for Vista/W7)?

Heya,

After the latest update, cabal says my .enc files are corrupt.
If i replace one with a working one (from pc downstairs), it says an other file is corrupt, etc etc.
So > global.enc corrupt > replace > market.enc corrupt > replace > etc.enc corrupt > etc etc.

I've tried:
- Replacing cabalmain.exe with working one.
- Re-installing Cabal as Administrator.
- Manually update with the latest patch.
- Check files (it's normal if this only takes like 1 minute?)
- Removing GameGuard folder.
- Removing Update folder.
- No anti-virus or firewall present, so np abouth that.
- Changing DEP settings.

The problem is after the latest update, before this everything was working fine!

Anyone can pass me some other possible solutions?

Currently running on Win7 Ultimate x64, for other sys specs, just ask!

Did a new install of Cabal, let it update automatically, and got the error again.
Replaced all the files with the ones you have uploaded, and now it's up and running again.

oke.
..I did downloaded all fine max speed .. So now the porblem that I have, it's that I un'rar it or try to do install from the rar file, the game stop's from extracting at 98% and do nothing. It's just standing at 98% for a realy good time, like 10minutes+ and honestly just do n o t h i n g!! ¬¬ . . If any one hase any idea what may be wrong! . . please let me know about this. pls!
(btw the extraction from 0 to 98% it takes no more than 15seconds ¬¬)

oke did it and. somehow it work to extract and install it. Now come the big part: for many times cabal had stop working for no reason so I searched in forum for ppl with same problem for not open another thread . . and I fixed that problem too after few of re'downloading games, re'installing game some eng. patches and wht others gm's sayd .. anyway my only problem now is that im geting this "File not found or corrupt!" c:\program file (86)game-masters.com\cabal online (europe)\data\global.enc ..

oke i must say Thank you for the file. But there is still a BUT! early with your file the game worked. I had to restart pc cuz windows did a small update and now.. NOW game wont open again. I just have in task manager Cabal Updater and there is none game opened . . Again, any idea why or how to fix this too?! ¬_¬ .. after 2days tring to play this game, and seems so hard. Some may give up for this kind of issue for an mmorpg ..

I decided to try play Cabal online again, though I haven't played since 2008. After I press Play, it loads and then says file global.enc missing or corrupt. I tried reinstalling, checking files, downloaded new installer, but it didn't help. I am using win7 64-bit.

Have you tried to search the files on your harddrive (Windows Search)? I had the same problem once after an update, which created a seperate folder with the files that were missing. After I copied all the files there into the original cabal folder, everything worked fine again.

Well i got the missing files in data folder, but they seem to be corrupt..


Search only finds market.enc only in the Cabal data folder..

Yay managed to start it after downloading global.enc and market.enc. Then there was error with hacking system, so I deleted some folders from launcher folder I think and it started :) thanks

I downloaded and installed the client again then I start the game and the patch is then the text. The update would be greater than the full client download. Then I click yes it is. Please reinstall Cabal Online. and then comes back exactly the same in europe DE version

If issues continue to occur keep file swapping until working client is out there.

For the ppl that has louncher problem like: try to open game but nothin apear but in task manager it's the file cabal updater I did try all guides of install and reinstall. windows+ game x100times and still same porblem for a week.
This is wht I did and worked for me 100%
1step#.- go here C:\Program Files (x86)\Games-Masters.com\CABAL Online (Europe)\Data
and before starting cabal you must see there a file called usersetting.dat <-- DELETE that file with Shift+Delete and start the game.

2step#.-Right clik on louncher. properties. compatibility and Run this program compatibility mode for: you OS edition apply. oke and run the game

3step#.- Turn on DEP for your: CABAL online and Cabal Starter. apply and oke ( to do that search in google How to turn on DEP for xp, or w7..

If doesen't work with step1 or2 or3.. tro to do Step3# Step#2 and Step1# and run the game after u rly did steps 3-2-1
....

This worked for me. First I had the "update.exe in Task Manager, 50% CPU and nothing shows up" issue, so I downloaded the latest installer and installed it (for some reason it didn't find the previous installation so I had to uninstall it and delete the leftovers manually).
Then I ran the updater, ran the file check and it said 1420/1420 everything's cool, but when running the game it threw an error that /data/global.enc is corrupted. Tried deleting the file and running check files, again 1420/1420, but no file was downloaded. Running the game - same error. Obviously the updater is missing some files; previously (a couple of months ago) there were more than 20k files being checked, now only 1420, and not even the most important at that.
Anyway, downloaded the archive from the post I quoted above and now I'm in the game again.

P.S. this **** with updater not working correctly has happened far too often, the devs should really start writing more stable code. Not to mention integrating IE into their launcher is a really ****** idea.

BUT WHY DID YOU CLICK on "check files" xD? Please... don't do it on a fresh install... more like, I recommend people to never use that function, it can destroy stuff yet fix stuff. It's like a two-edged blade.

Why would I NOT do "check files"? That's ridiculous, that function is supposed to fix everything!
Anyway, without doing check files it was crashing with "missing file", so I deleted that file, did a check, of course nothing was downloaded and the error was still there, so I started looking for fixes.

Today nothing works again, the update.exe is stuck with 50% CPU in Task Manager. I'll try downloading the archive I quoted in my previous post but if that does not help then **** those Cabal devs, their hands are more curved than anything I've ever seen. Seriously, the launcher does not work, the website frequently has IIS/ASP errors (every time I've visited more than just the index page I've found an error somewhere), the game has had some really nasty errors in its time, like clicking on an item link in chat box crashed the PC; who writes code like that?

Edit: nope, neither the *.enc file archive nor the *.exe's + launcher folder posted by Ceraon helped. Downloading the installer from here: http://download.cabalonline.com/CABAL_Online_Europe_Installer.exe
I had downloaded CABAL_Online_Europe_EN_EU_ONLY.exe previously, not sure if there's a difference, but I sure hope this final leap of faith will work. If not, then I dunno what the hell should I do to make this thing work. Not to mention players shouldn't even be having these kinds of problems at all.

The new one you that is now available --> http://download.cabalonline.com/CABAL_Online_Europe_Installer.exe is the new Multi-Language Episode VII client, which
requires no updating at this moment (aside from some launcher files).

I do agree that Cabal lack compatibility for a lot of computers, if I a look at the reports of people who have problem here...

I personally never had any problems like this, which didn't disappear after a simple PC reboot though, in case I do have problems... so really... this is quite dependent on the user >__>...

I had the update.exe hanging in the processes thing once on my laptop! I rebooted my laptop and it was GONE... so even now I'm clueless of what the cause is.

Well, did a full uninstall + cleanup and afterwards a normal installation with the latest installer + enabled DEP and added those 3 exceptions (doubt I needed it though), and got inside the game. Hopefully that'll be the last of this problem.
