Hello, I've been having this problem for about a week now. Yesterday I re-installed Windows and it still occurs. My PC exceeds the minimum specs so that's not the case. All my software is up to date, I have no firewall/antivirus installed.

Anyway, when I start Cabal my mouse cursor does not change to the Cabal one and when i click anywhere while the loading proccess/loging in Cabal becomes something like a wallpaper ( !!! ) and the icons appear. Cabalmain is still running in the background, Gameguard also. But its like stuck. I even tried doing everyting with my keyboard but when it gets to the 'connecting to world' screen the same thing happens.

I tried checking files, manually updating Cabal, delete/re-download Gameguard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What client did you use to install Cabal ?

Was it the GamersHell one ?

Yes, the newest on

And what driver versions are you using ?

Post a PC Specs including driver versions and software used.

I don't think that it's the hardware that's causing trouble.

CPU: Athlon 3 Ghz
Ram: 1 GB DDR2
Video Card: GF 7300 GT (forceware 169)

As I said it's a clean system install so basically i have only the drivers installed.

Directx 9.0c
Realtek AC97 audio
PCI Ethernet drivers
ForceWare 169 WHQL

Try these ones
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html

Also i didn't say it's hardware , it's driver/software related.

Did you overclock it or something ? Modified anything ?

I hope you didn't update WindowsXP to SP3 ..

Also , from Windows to Windows versions, the OS sets the following value to different numbers.

3) The Cursor Remains Stuck in The Middle Of The Screen or you get the Internal Driver Error
All the credits for this one go to JIMBU :

Solution : Open the registry editor. That's done by going to Run, then type in "regedit."

In the registry:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management
Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below:
Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.

Code:
Megabytes --- Hexadecimal ----- Decimal
192Mb ---------- 0c000000 ------ 201326592
256Mb ---------- 10000000 -------268435456
384Mb -----------18000000 ------- 402653184

You do not need anything bigger than 400Mb... in most cases 300Mb is too much as well. The bigger the number, the more memory you devote to the Paged Pool.

Once you are done, make sure you reboot your computer.

I tried those drivers earlier. Still the same. I did not OC anything, didn't touch the registry, nothing. I can't be sure but I remember that the day the thing started GG downloaded ggscan.des. But it shouldn't really matter since I re-installed EVERYTHING. My OS is XP SP2, no SP3 crap.

Edit the registry to improve the quantity of the PoolSize memory ...

Else, there is nothing that can cross my mind except using a different client and letting the updater do it's thing. Either this or manually update the game.

No change.
Thank you RatzaTM for your time and effort. I'll go and see if I can do something about it. Till next time ;) C ya

EDIT: I hate ****** things... The solution was to start the game in window mode. Then from options turn it to full screen. Talk about irony.... A happy end I guess. C ya all :)
