Now that you say it I think you're right, because I don't remember how did I reach to these calcs now, anyways I've checked the formula, and at last a mithril orb slotted with nothing in is better than my crystal, and better if it's +x.

Mithril orb +7 has (rough estimation) around 150 dex? if I'm right.
