[Info] Crash-to-Desktop

Howdy!

It's been brought to my attention that a lot of players have been experiencing random crashes to their desktops (where the CABAL window simply disappears with no error message being displayed).

Since not everyone is using the same system setup with the same software this will require a bit of effort in terms of information gathering, from everyone!

If you are still suffering from the issue please follow the guidelines below. If not, congratulations! ^_^

Information Gathering


Step 1: (Please fill out)


- Operating system:
- OS Build:
- 32 or 64-bit:
- RAM:
- Processor:
- Graphics card:
- Graphics card driver version:

Step 2:

Start -> Run... -> "eventvwr" -> Windows Logs -> Application
and
Start -> Run... -> "eventvwr" -> Windows Logs -> System

Then sort by date/time so the most recent are at the top. Check if any correspond to the times you experience any CTDs (Crash-to-Desktops).

If you find any errors related to CABAL at the correct time intervals please screenshot each of them for viewing.

Step 3:

Start -> Run... -> "dxdiag" -> Display

Screenshot and upload for viewing also.

Step 4:

Gather ALL the information and post it in a support ticket directed to Technical Support.

If any more information is required you'll be notified in the ticket.

I think I can give some help.
For those who don't have a good PC is the only way is getting better CPU/grapic card,more RAM.
but there are some other actions you can boost up your computers performance:
-Delete programs you never use
-Limit how many programs load at startup
-Defragment your hard drive
-Clean up your hard disk
-Add more memory by using USB flash drives
For those who have better PC but have this problem i can suggest is:check how much memory you have and what OS you are running(32/64-bit), and also notice that 32-bit OS can only use max. 3 gb of the RAM you have, if you have more then 3 gb RAM and have 32-bit OS should upgrade to 64-bit OS.

i don't think this bug has anything to do with the PC's performance, i have a 4 g ram, quad core i5 760 processor, good graphic card(nvidia 9600 GT series) and still get this crash.What i have noticed is that it happens when i enter or exit ic2 or fi and it started happening when i switched to windows 7 64 bit from windows 7 32 bit.hope this is helpful.

I have thos problem too.
Windows xp 32, 1gb ram,NVIDIA Geforce 8600gts.
Driver 258.96 . Last driver on this Video Card, download from Nvidia official site.

All it begin after reinstal windows.

Ehm the "Crash-to-Desktop" problem that this thread deals with is about crashes without error messages, so it's unrelated to your problem...

This may be a warning that your GPU will die soon if you also have white stuffs on screen sometimes. I think the thing they did with the RH update to the shaders accelerates the ageing process of the video card very much as I saw many that had my problem after RH update. Ofc, this is only a theory ...

yes i have it too but the thing is i had no problems before update ep4 but after it i play maybe a 5 min and it closes with no errors and sometimes the items gets white before crash to deskop and my pc is not so weak now iam playing gta 4

3 years no problem until last update

Guys , just a small reminder

If you post information here,it's like you do not do anything.Make a ticket , and maybe post the ID here.Anyway GMs are revising on the information you gave only a the support suit.

If you want to get a ix,do it as it is ordered.
