You forget that in Korean CTRacer there are parts 10 times better then this and there are some really awkward ones. Some are made to reduce your front or rear grip precisely to make those drifts. Has nothing to do with weight or torque. Grip is the key.

I did a bit and I've seen people go "door handles first" in that tunnel as well. Spoke with one guy and he told me that it's the Mu grip factor that is the big concern when getting sideways.

Grip plays a huge role in being able to actually get your car sideways without losing an insane amount of speed doing it. The weight reduction is what maintains the speed when you are actually sideways. That mini weighs absolutely nothing.

He's also punching the gas to keep his needle/RPMs up and the wheels spinning =D

That's actually a natural response to a high-speed downshift. When you drive a stick and perform such a maneuver, your torque and speed needles will fluctuate upward before they settle and reset at true readings. Essentially you are going too fast for the gear you shift to.
