Default [IMPORTANT] How to identify a real GM character ingame

Can you tell a real GM ingame from a fake one? It is actually very easy, but if you are unsure the following guide will help you.

    The Basics

Always keep the following in mind:

    • No GM will ever tell you to go to any website other than http://support.cabalonline.com or www.cabalonline.com or http://forum.cabalonline.com - and you will see that all three of those are official sites ending with cabalonline.com. You can always check the forum and website for any announcements.
    • No GM will ever ask you for your account information ingame, including account ID, passwords, or subpasswords.
    • No GM will ever 'need to log into your account to check for illegal activity'
    • No GM will ever tell you about changed rules or anything similar that you need to accept.

    Special GM-chat

When a GM uses any chat ingame you will see a yellow box to the left of their nickname, with 'GM' inside it. These examples will show what you should see.

Scam attempt - don't fall for it

If you cannot see that yellow box, even in whisper - it's a scam attempt. Ignore, block and report the player whispering or talking to you.

    GM-sign and nation

All ingame GM characters have the GM-stick, and the special GM-nation. No GM will ever refuse to show you either of those, and should have them visible most of the time (although some GMs might use weapon skins like the Lightsaber ones, they are all willing to show you the GM-stick if you ask them to) - so if you are unsure simply ask.

    GM-buff (and debuff!)

All ingame GM characters have the special Buff Skill, that gives you a really nice stat boost as well as floating pink hearts around your character. Normally you can find this in the middle of a crowd of players all showing the hearts. Some GMs also use the debuff from time to time, which shows as floating skulls around your character. Once again, if the GM cannot buff you... well, it might be time to be suspicious.
