Disclaimer: If you've been to an IT class or two, you have most likely heard of all these before.


DO NOT GIVE AWAY YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION (PASSWORD, USERNAME, SUB PASSWORD)

Password
Should have: Big and small letters, a number or two, preferably over 8 letters or so.

Logging in
Try to use the soft key tool (the virtual keyboard thingy) as much as possible, as there is no virus yet developed that can look at your screen to see you clicking your password in, unlike with normal typing, when you may have a keylogger on your PC, which WILL catch your password and username.

Character sub passwords
These will be useful in the event you do actually get hacked, which is probably not going to happen, but you can never be too cautious, that's why you're here reading this, isn't it?

Set these sub passes to something only you know, like your phone's pin-code or something similar.

NEVER, EVER, EVER USE ANYTHING LIKE THESE: 1234, 0000, 1111, etc.

Securing your gear with more sub passwords and other common sense
Every time you log out, lock your warehouse and equipment by using the small lock buttons on the top right corners of the bank & inventory windows.

Do NOT use the same password here as you did on the character sub password window, because if someone has gotten through that, they will now know that one, and will of course try it here as well.

NEVER, EVER, EVER USE ANYTHING LIKE THESE: 1234, 0000, 1111, etc.

Identifying safe websites

If it ends in .cabalonline.com, the website is part of the official cabal website, if it doesn't end it that, do NOT trust the website!

Remembering your various passwords

Do NOT save your passwords on your computer, preferably use something you can remember without any help.

If you must make a cheat paper for your passwords, just write it on a piece of paper and put that into your wallet or something else nobody else will get their hands on.


You can also try and encode it a little, like this:

Put your password next to the month you were born in or some other word you'll recognize:

also you should write that don't give your id/pw/subpw to anyone at all.
also we have a thread somewhere which teaching you how to make a strong and good pw... maybe somewhere in tech sectoin (not sure)

Also, there are plenty of sites like this on the web, you shouldn't be afraid of using them. On a password you type often like cabal's one, remembering won't be a problem after 2 days.

I use password : 12345 , coz everyone say 123456 is easy to guess !

Sadly, most of people fail at your first tip already.

Already playing and using your own data at another computer than your own increases heavily the chance to lose your account(sooner or later).

Propably a reason why people like me got never "hacked", because those are people who always get sure they are always the only person using his computer and never log in any game on another computer.

I'm sure I wrote this before about the SubPW.

We all know there is a timer on the SubPW 1h/2h3h before the SubPW locks your account. I think most players use the 3h timer, because filling in the 1h one may cause one another some irritation.*

Best is when you log off to elsewhere (bed/school or w/e), make SURE the SubPW is RESETTED. Otherwise the hacker who may have ur ID/PW can walk in freely.*

You can fail the SubPW 19 times, the 20th time is account block. (Did this during a break, though im not sure if it helps for some reason). Anyhow I sometimes fail my SubPW on purpose to see the fail count. If the fail count says 2-3 or more. Someone must have tried to get into your account. If you don't check the SubPW counter you will be resetting it when you succesfully log in. Which gives the hacker more gambling chances to try on your SubPW.

I shared this years ago with my friends and it happened to one of them before the account could get hijacked. He/she figured it out with the SubPW fail counter. So changed PW and made a ticket to secure the account.

I'd like to comment on the passwords.

You can add as many capital letters in it, it won't change a thing. If you log in, you can even try to type your password with caps-lock. It is just NOT case-sensitive. Don't know why it is like that, maybe EST thinks it makes everything more secure... Their logic is beyond ours.

xd i ment without cliking reset button and just go to some pasword options in acount menu like in other game and change it, but nevermind its the same, just i wasnt feel nice presing reset to try xd

Just to confirm that I just tested it with a vpn : subpw check cycle is reset if you change IP.
