Well, a lo people say upgrading and open chests is about laggs on game. when there are less lags, more succeed change
(I don't believe that, but anyways).
They also think that they roll-a-dice option give higher roll at less lags.
Which means if you roll 950, there are less lags = high succeed change...

but i will say: BULLSHIT !

@photaful - I also tested this using dice and it doesn't work but it does seem to work better when there is less lag, my favorite upgrading spot is in port lux and I can do any equip +9 with not more than almost an inventory full of cores (2 pages inventory). I did have one problem once in which I had to spend 120kk for a sig coat to +9 it..
