Hello can u pls help me, after i instal Cabal and start it it works, but it i logout and restart the computer im heting an error "d:\cabal\.\cabalmain.exe" and i dont know what to do, ive tryed everything includint a new fresh windows
and i just bought 3 gb ram (2+1)
i have windows XP sp3

Hmmz, it's pretty weird that you are having cabalmain.exe error with 3GB ram.

How much ram did you had at first?

Are both of those 2GB and 1GB ram modules new?

Or is the 1GB old and the new 2GB new? If this is the case, turn off your PC, remove the 1GB ram module, start your PC again and try running Cabal with only the 2GB ram.

How many ram slots does your motherboard have? Can you try using a different slot?

Hmmmz, try this:

Try this until there's a fix, it worked for me and the CTDs stopped.

1. Open the registry editor. start->run-> regedit

2. go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management

3. Double click on "PagedPoolSize"

4. Replace the existing value with the one of the three listed below using hexadecimal
//choose either one
0c000000 <---192mb
10000000 <---256mb
18000000 <---384mb


5. Restart your PC

6. Enjoy cabal

Well, the manual patch has nothing to do with the cabalmain.exe error really...

Hmmmz, and if you only use your old 1GB ram ?

yea i traied all three variants (only 1gb use, only 2 gb use and 2+1 use) and nothing ! allways this error !

You installed both computers with the same Windows XP SP3 installation CD?

Is it a real one sold by Microsoft? If not, you might want to download and burn a new one.

It sounds pretty fishy if both your desktop and laptop have this issue with the same Windows CD.

my father have win 7 (from 3nd PC) and dont have this problem ... why? ah and if i take the cabalmain.exe from my father's pc it works until reboot the pc

dont have same windows on both of them
- pc have windows xp sp3
- notebook have win xp sp2

Weird, is the only thing I can say ... replacing the cabalmain.exe from a different computer and it will work till you restart? Senseless...

Did you install Cabal with the newest client available with "run as administrator" and runs it with "run as administrator" too, I assume? If not, do that.

Are you using any antivirus/firewall programs?

yes ...i downloaded after more website gamona,gamershal and setup(cabalonline.com)
i use nod32 and allways firewall on !(first pc)
Nottebook used only firewall
