Dont know how to solve = "Failed to connect. Please try again later" =(

I am so excited to play this game and i feel like i have no luck with these kind of things because i keep coming up with problems

I have downloaded the game and installed it and then entered my ID and password to log in but it says "Failed to connect. Please try again later."

I have looked at the threads on this topic and read about

1)opening ports?
2)firewall clash - I have alreayd shut off my Windows XP firewall
3)router ports?

I have also tried to follow some of the instructions but i dont really fully understand the whole router and opening ports thing because the instructions were very general.

I have been sitting here for a long time trying to solve this problem so i can finally play, but i have no luck because i really need some help to solve this failing to connect problem.

Can someone give me some advice please? Or a guide to how i can "open ports" and deal with the router stuff please?

Do you have a wireless connection?

Yes i do, its a wireless connection to a Netgear Router thats attached to a main computer

Ok, try downloading Connection Keeper, download and install it, then click "Keep connection alive" then minimize it to tray, also.. It may be due to full servers, try that first though, even without full servers its a massive help for wireless.

Well if it fails to connect, then it's to do with your internet connection... The connection keeper, keeps a constant link between your router and your netgear adapter plugged into your computer.

Is there something wrong with the US client? Ive been looking at some of the threads on "failed to connect. please try again later".

I had downloaded the US Client from the CNET Download site, because i cant type links, as said in words: download dot com

Does location matter on what client ur using?
I mean i live in UK, should be legible to play this game?

Any help is appreciated, really want to play =(

Links can be posted, if you remove "http://" from the url, also I have no idea about your problem, it's happened to me but I'm fine after a few attempts, I also once cleared my private data from both Firefox and IE and it worked directly after that, it may have nothing to do with it and be purely coincidental, but it's worth a shot.

See if u download the US client and ur in UK, would u still be able to play it??

I am so confused!!!!!!

I downloaded the EU client and installed it and all was fine until the log in! It keeps saying "Failed to connect to the server. Try again later"

Why?!

I have opened ports on my router AND firewall!!

Please any suggestions im actually really gutted that its still the same

There have been some login problems lately. It might not be your fault. Try connecting later and if it persists, well, then it would be your problem.

whenever i try to log on i always get You are disconnected from the server. please try again later.

If you are a european player you might have downloaded the wrong client and should use

hxxp://download.cabalonline.com/pds/071029_setup.exe

if you are a non-european player (USA) then we can not provide support for you.

My first ticket sent ever o.O guess what it helped xD downloading from that link and see if it works.

i asked the same question yesterday and a guy replied with this. i redownloaded this version of the client and it works fine. although i have a problem with the lakeside map. map_06.enc i think can easily download that tho. but it works! lol put http instead of xx. the orginal post can be found in neverath cronicles me as the thread start ' cant login? )wont let me post links
