Default [SOLUTION] Extensive Error Guide [Last Updated: 06-02-09]

Hey-ho! Since a lot of people fail to see the simplicity in searching the forums for a fix-thread I've decided to compact the most common issues into one with short mini-guides following the main post. I would advise you all to simply press Ctrl+F and enter a keyword to search this thread since reading through it may be rather tedious when looking for something specific!

If I missed anything out then please feel free to mention it to me via PM so I can update the thread! Information has been gathered from various sources into one complete guide, so please make use of it!

Writer's note: if you would like something hosted for public download, let me know what it is and I'll get it up for you all.

      • Please double check your PSU either by temporarily replacing it or using it on another rig.
      • If system is overclocked please also revert back to the factory default.

    Updating issues:

    Common problems:

    1. Failed to download server information. Please restart Launcher.
      • Delete cookies & temp files then restart PC
      • Disable any firewall/AV software you have running
      • Allow update.exe in firewall/AV exceptions list
      • Allow torrents through your router
    2. Update 379_1 downloading...
      • Urlinfo.ini has now been updated. This paticular error should no longer appear.
    3. The game will be closed to recieve the update.
      • Delete update files completely and let it download all updates from scratch
      • Download a pre-updated copy
      • Re-install current copy and auto-update
      • Re-install current copy and manually update
    4. The game fails to reach the login screen before I get a CTD (crash to desktop) with no error message
      • Reinstall game client and ensure successful updating, your client has corrupted files essential for start-up

    Restarting PC:

    Common problems:
    1. Graphical glitches followed by black screen
    2. Graphical glitches followed by PC restart
    3. Any errors followed by black screen and/or restart
    4. Any combination of the above
      • Check the following are in working order:
        • PSU or UPS (Power Supply Unit or Uninterruptable Power Supply)
        • Network Card or Network Cable
        • Graphics Card and temperature
        • Motherboard
      • Remove and hardware/software you may have installed in-between the last successful playing and first reboot.
        • Or remove all non-essential hardware connected and attempt to run Cabal.
      • Remove all hardware and peripheral device drivers and install them one at a time (check to see if Cabal runs after each installation)
      • Make sure you have disabled all software that you're not using at the moment (including all hacks), some software might conflict with gameguard and cause a PC restart.
Lockups and hangs in the operating system can be attributed to out-of-date or missing chipset drivers for the motherboard, missing Windows updates, or corrupted/outdated video card drivers. In most cases, loading updated chipset drivers, updating video card drivers, and installing available Windows updates will resolve these issues.

In rare cases, these types of issues can be related to underpowered or poor quality power supplies in the computer. Please make sure that the power supply in your computer meets the requirements of the graphics card you have installed. If you are adding a new video card to your system, sometimes it is neccessary to upgrade that power supply for your computer as well.

      - See post 6 for further details

    Account-related issues:

    Common problems:
    1. Account is banned.
      • Submit a support ticket - account related cases are not for the Technical Support Forum!
      • A few likely causes are, however:
        • Your account has been blocked for using automated programs (bots)
        • Your account has been blocked for using offensive language towards another individual
        • You failed to update correctly and were caught in the ban script using a "speedhack" (Error Code 6: Type 174)
    2. Wrong ID and Pass.
      • Ensure the correct password is being changed via the correct part of the site, i.e forum password in the User CP and the game password on the main page.

    Disconnections and Connection Issues:

    Common problems:
    1. Disconnecting at login
      • Ensure the correct password is being changed via the correct part of the site, i.e forum password in the User CP and the game password on the main page.
    2. Disconnecting entering dungeons
    3. Disconnecting changing map
      • Reinstall the game client and ensure successful updating
Sometimes during an installation some of the non-essential files are corrupted and not detected. If you experience a DC every time you do something specific then you most likely have a corrupt file in you game folder.
      • See below
    4. Disconnecting at random intervals
      • Please ensure a stable internet connection; re-check cables in and out of router/modem and PC.
      • Kill all processes that could be using any bandwidth and re-check Cabal's connection stability.
I would also like to point out that the longer you have Cabal running the more sluggish your machine will become. You can therefore also try simply restarting your machine.
      • If you're using a PPPoA connection type:
        • Check all your hardware connected (router/cables/lines in & out etc.) and ensure all are in working order.
        • If you experience random DC's in your internet connection (not just in Cabal) contact your ISP's support desk and ask for further instructions on how to identify the cause.
    5. Disconnecting after X amount of time
    6. Disconnecting after leaving shop open
      • If you're using a PPPoE connection type:
        • Using a "keep-alive" program such as ConKeep. (Keep-alive software stops your ISP shutting down your session through inactivity - though has no effect on packets sent/recieved)

    Cash Shop:
    • I get an error when opening the cash shop
      • Right click "Local Area Connection" icon in your system tray and select "Repair".
      • Clear temp files & cookies
      • Use Windows Update to update to the latest version of IE 7.
      • Google the downloads for Adobe Flash 10 and Java Runtime Environment.
      • This is not the case as incorrect MTU gives the "error" message and not an infinite loop (in 99% of the cases)
      • You need to inquire your ISP whether they set up such a proxy for your connection. You will need to convince them to remove the transparent proxy from your connection.
    • No text when viewing the cash shop
      • Ensure all language packs have been installed on your machine
      • Use Windows Update to update to the latest version of IE 7.
      • Google the downloads for Adobe Flash 10 and Java Runtime Environment.
      • This is not the case as incorrect MTU gives the "error" message and not an infinite loop (in 99% of the cases)
      • You need to inquire your ISP whether they set up such a proxy for your connection. You will need to convince them to remove the transparent proxy from your connection.
    • I wait and wait but the cash shop won't load
      • Right click "Local Area Connection" icon in your system tray and select "Repair".
      • Clear temp files & cookies
      • Use Windows Update to update to the latest version of IE 7.
      • Google the downloads for Adobe Flash 10 and Java Runtime Environment.
      • This is not the case as incorrect MTU gives the "error" message and not an infinite loop (in 99% of the cases)
      • You need to inquire your ISP whether they set up such a proxy for your connection. You will need to convince them to remove the transparent proxy from your connection.
    • I know the Cash Shop was updated but I still see an older version of the page
      • Open IExplorer and delete temp files/ cookies
      • Use Windows Update to update to the latest version of IE 7.
      • Google the downloads for Adobe Flash 10 and Java Runtime Environment.
      • This is not the case as incorrect MTU gives the "error" message and not an infinite loop (in 99% of the cases)
      • You need to inquire your ISP whether they set up such a proxy for your connection. You will need to convince them to remove the transparent proxy from your connection.

      -- Common causes:
      • Corrupt Game Files
      • Non-updated Internet Explorer
      • Missing Adobe Flash Player and Java Runtime Environment
      • Incorrect MTU size
      • Transparent Proxy set by the ISP

      • Reinstall the game client and ensure successful updating
      • See Graphical Glitches
    9. Missing/ corrupted maps
      • Reinstall the game client and ensure successful updating

Most, if not all, of the above issues are causes by corrupt and/or missing files from a bad download or installation. The fastest solution would be to reinstall properly, unless you know the specific file in the root folder which needs replacing

        • Open CMD (Start -> Run... -> "CMD") -> type "tracert www.cabalonline.com" with Cabal open.
        • Save the information and post/ PM to a Support Advisor for review
      • Ensure all non-essential software is turned off before starting Cabal.
      • Re-install and re-patch and/or renew your copy of gameguard.
    4. Gameguard doesn't update correctly.
      • Delete your gameguard folder and allow the launcher to re-download a fresh copy
      • Replace your gameguard folder with one from this list

    Invalid/missing/incompletefiles:

    Common problems:
    1. Missing textures
      • Items
        • Reinstall and ensure successful updating
      • NPCs

      • Skills
        • Reinstall and ensure successful updating
      • Monster's attacks
        • Reinstall and ensure successful updating
    3. Jukebox won't work
      • Delete your Jukebox folder and gameguard folder, reboot and restart Cabal
      • Any songs you may have added need to be on .ogg format

    Spontaneous, not-so-common issues:
    1. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error
      • Check and remove any new software that has been installed recently
      • Check and remove any hardware that has been installed recently
      • Update your system or re-format: ensure you have installed everything your machine needs to run.
        • You may want to do a Windows Update to ensure total system compatibility when executing a program, since runtime errors can occur if files on your system are obsolete or corrupt.

    Corrupt files replacement list:

Please be aware that some of these are not from the latest update, if any do not work then send me a PM and I'll re-upload the .rar's with the more up-to-date ones.

The ones that are, however, up-to-date have the title "NEW!" next to them.

    WinRar application: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe

If a file is set to "Private" it means it's no longer needed for your client, please do not attempt to download it!

ATTENTION: If you have replaced the corrupt files with ones from above, your cabalmain.exe is the corrupt file. The ones listed are in perfect working order.

    Alternatively
(if replacing them doesn't work) then do the following:

Open your Cabal directory (typically c:\program files\game-masters.com\CABAL Online (Europe))

Next, click on the "search" function at the top of the window, type in the extension type of the file that's corrupt and run the search.

(E.g. If I had mob.enc corrupt I'd put in "enc" for the search)

Once the search is finished highlight them and delete them all. Now go into your Cabal directory again and delete your gameguard folder.

Reboot your PC afterwards, run the updater and press "Check Files".

Why does my PC restart when I run Cabal?

That’s an awfully difficult question to answer, because there are so many possible reasons for the behaviour.

A format/fresh install is really the only absolute answer if software causes are suspected. If you’ve already attended to uninstalling and reinstalling the motherboard chipset and the display card device drivers, and to uninstalling/reinstalling Cabal (or any other offending games), and ensured that the system is free of viruses or other malware, then a format/fresh install is perhaps the most straightforward and simple approach to adopt. It’s what I’d do in the situation anyway, to be truthful!

Be sure you’ve had the most relevant and up to date device drivers available correctly installed first, though! And don’t forget to attend to the audio device drivers as well. Those interact with DirectX, and can sometimes cause problems as well.

If the system continues to restart after a format/fresh install has been properly performed then you can safely assume it is a hardware fault. Some of the more commonly encountered causes would include:
    • Overheating. Check that the fans on your CPU and graphics card are functioning correctly. Perhaps the heatsinks need to be removed, cleaned up and then refitted using a new application of thermal paste?
    • Inadequate or failing power supply unit. If the graphics card isn’t receiving enough ‘grunt’ then the system restarting would be understandable.
    • RAM mismatch. If you have a ‘mix and match’ of RAM modules installed in the system then incompatibility errors could be generating the restarts.
Often, when a system becomes a bit ‘scrambled’ from the wear and tear of 3D gaming the only real solution is a format and fresh install. Before going to that extent, however, try this:
    • Right-click My Computer and choose ‘Properties’.
    • On the ‘Advanced’ tab, under ‘Startup and Recovery’ click on ‘Settings’.
    • Under ‘System failure’ uncheck ‘Restart’ and ensure the other options are ticked.
You might want to check those potential problems out before you try formatting, considering that your system has sometimes restarted straight after it has been powered up.

    Next possible fix:

Open the registry editor. That's done by going to Run, then type in "regedit."

    In the registry:
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below:
Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.

    Code:
    Megabytes Hexadecimal Decimal
    192Mb 0c000000 201326592
    256Mb 10000000 268435456
    384Mb 18000000 402653184

You do not need anything bigger than 400Mb... in most cases 300Mb is too much as well. The bigger the number, the more memory you devote to the Paged Pool.

Once you are done, make sure you reboot your computer.
What makes my PC crash randomly?

A number of things exist that can cause a PC to crash and become unresponsive. As of yet there is no set fix for a crash.

One way to identify the cause is to do the following:

Right click My Computer > Manage.

In the window that appears, along the left navigate in System Tools > Event Viewer > Open "Application" in the right.

Next, sort by Source and list any that say Application Hang. After which, if you cannot identify the program PM me and I'll see what I can do about it. If you can, however, identify the program(s) then, if possible, make sure they're turned off next time you start Cabal.

Poor performance can be related to improper driver settings or insufficient system hardware or resources. To ensure that you get the best performance out of the video card, you should have the latest motherboard BIOS and motherboard and CHIPSET drivers installed. These are available from the system manufacturer’s website.

Also, make sure that your computer meets all of the recommended system requirements for the application or game that you are using. You should also have disabled all background programs and services that are not necessary to run Windows. Make sure that you have an adequate power supply.

In some cases, a clean uninstallation, followed by an installation of the latest drivers can resolve issues with poor performance.

If the problem still exists, this may be a limitation with the graphics BUS on the motherboard. It may be limiting the available bandwidth, which will reduce the performance of the graphics card. It may also be possible that the card is not performing as it should. To test further, you will need to install the card in another system (if possible).
You should also check your BIOS setting
    1. Basic BIOS options

NOTE: These options may vary depending on the type/version of your system. You may or may not have all these options present.

    * Video BIOS Shadow - DISABLED
    * Init Primary Display - AGP (toggle this setting if your video card is PCI)
    * AGP MASTER 1W/S READ/WRITE - ENABLED/DISABLED (toggle this option)
    * AGP Aperture size - 128 MB
    * AGP Driving Control - AUTO
    * Disable AGP 8x/4x mode in the BIOS
    * Disable AGP Fast Writes in the BIOS
    * AGP Driving Control - AUTO
    * AGP Performance Control - ENABLED/DISABLED (toggle this option)
    * Assign IRQ for VGA - ENABLED
    * System Bios Cacheable - DISABLED
    * Video BIOS Cacheable - DISABLED
    * VIDEO RAM Cacheable - DISABLED
    * Read Around Write - ENABLED/DISABLED (toggle this setting)
    * PnP OS installed - YES

    2. BIOS Settings for ADVANCED USERS

NOTE: These options may vary depending on the type/version of your system. You may or may not have all these options.

    1. Load optimized defaults in your BIOS
    2. Set your memory settings to default values (i.e. DRAM Timing = SPD)
    3. Lower the memory frequency to 133/166mhz (effectively DDR266/333mhz)
    4. If available, increase AGP Voltage to 1.6 - 1.8 in the BIOS
    5. SDRAM Cycle length - 2.5
    6. Bank Interleave - ENABLE/DISABLE (toggle this setting - it will only make a difference if you have more than one memory module)
    7. DRAM Burst length – 4

    3. Adjust graphics hardware acceleration as follows:

    1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Display.
    3. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
    4. Click the Troubleshoot tab.
    5. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider two notches to the left of Full (the Disable all cursor and advanced drawing accelerations setting).
    6. Click OK, and then click OK again.

    4. Turn on DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration, and AGP Texture Acceleration

    1. Click Start, click Run, type DXDiag in the Open, and then click OK.
    2. On the Display (or Display 1) tab, under DirectX Features, click Enable next to DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration, and AGP Acceleration.
    3. NOTE: If AGP Texture Acceleration says Not Available, the feature is unavailable on your video adapter. Not all video adapters support AGP Texture Acceleration.
    4. Click Exit.

    5. Ensure that all three DirectX Features are enabled

Run the available tests to ensure that each of the three components passes.

    6. Restart your computer by using a clean boot procedure

NOTE: You may experience a temporary loss of some services functionality when you follow these steps. Restoring the settings restores the functionality, but it may result in the return of the original error message or behavior.

    1. Click Start, click Run, type Msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
    3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear "Load Startup Items".
    4. On the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
    5. Click OK, and then click Restart.

    7. Empty the Windows temporary folder, by following these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Run, type %temp% in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
    3. On the File menu, click Delete.
    4. Click yes when you receive the following message:
    5. Are you sure you want to send these items to the Recycle Bin?

Based on our experience, lockups and hangs issues are usually due to improper system configuration, driver issues, faulty hardware, or a known issue between a given application, driver and hardware in use.

There are several things you can check:

Please keep in mind that you may have already done some of the following suggestions and you DO NOT need to try each one.
    1. Please check with your motherboard or PC manufacturer to ensure that you have the latest Chipset driver.

When maintaining your machine to keep it healthy and lag-free, there are a few simple and effective methods you should apply as often as possible to help keep it it top-notch condition!

    - Defrag (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter)

Disk defragmenting definition -> Defragmentation is the process of locating the noncontiguous fragments of data into which a computer file may be divided as it is stored on a hard disk, and rearranging the fragments and restoring them into fewer fragments or into the whole file. Defragmentation reduces data access time and allows storage to be used more efficiently.

    - Disk Cleanup (same path as above) (see below for a full guide on Disk Cleanup)

    - Remove start-up programs (Start -> Run... -> "msconfig" -> Startup -> Disable All -> Apply -> Restart PC)

    - Uninstall all unnecessary software to increase swap file potential (acts like RAM)

Definition of Swap File -> A swap file (or swap space or, in Windows NT, a pagefile) is a space on a hard disk used as the virtual memory extension of a computer's real memory (RAM). Having a swap file allows your computer's operating system to pretend that you have more RAM than you actually do. The least recently used files in RAM can be "swapped out" to your hard disk until they are needed later so that new files can be "swapped in" to RAM. In larger operating systems (such as IBM's OS/390), the units that are moved are called pages and the swapping is called paging.

    Disk Cleanup Utility

To keep a PC running smoothly, regular maintenance is critical. Many users shy away from maintenance tasks, thinking it is a long, drawn out manual affair, but the Disk Cleanup Utility can easily determine which files on a hard drive may no longer be needed and delete those files. In addition to freeing up potentially significant amounts of hard drive space, using Disk Cleanup on a regular basis can significantly improve system performance.

    Starting Disk Cleanup:

    • Click Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup
    • Click Start | Run and in the Open box type cleanmgr and click OK
    • In Windows Explorer or My Computer, right-click the disk in which you want to free up space, click Properties, click the General tab, and then click Disk Cleanup.

Use the drop down menu arrow to select the drive you want to clean.

Click [OK] and Disk Cleanup will analyze the selected drive to determine the amount of space that can be freed.

Note: Be patient. Analyzing the drive can be a lengthy process depending on drive size and contents.

Once the drive analysis is complete a list of file categories will be presented for your selection.

Instead of automatically proceeding with cleanup once the drive analysis is complete, Disk Cleanup allows you to review the categories of files that can be deleted. Click on any of the categories to display more information relative to that category in the Description section of the window. If you're unsure if you want to delete the files in a category from the description, use the [View Files] button. A complete list of files scheduled for deletion will be displayed in Windows Explorer. Use drag and drop to move any files you want to save to a safe location and leave the category selected. If all the files are to be saved, close the window and then remove the checkmark from the file category so it will not be included in the disk cleanup. After all the categories have been reviewed, click [OK] to begin the disk cleanup process.
File Categories in Disk Cleanup Utility

There are a number of different types of file categories that Disk Cleanup targets when it performs the initial disk analysis. Depending on the individual system, you may or may not have all the categories listed below. An excellent example of this would be Backup Files from a Previous Operating System. If a clean install of XP was performed then this category will not exist. It pays to click on each of the categories and note that the [View Files] button can change depending on the category selected.
    • Downloaded Program Files

These are ActiveX controls and Java applets downloaded from Web sites that are temporarily stored in the Downloaded Program Files folder. It's not program files or zip files that you have downloaded from other locations.
    • Temporary Internet Files

This refers to Internet Explorer's cache of Web pages that are stored on the hard drive for quicker viewing. None of your personal web settings are affected by selecting this category, nor does it delete any cookie files.
    • Recycle Bin

The main thing to be aware of in this category is that it only refers to the Recycle Bin for the selected hard drive or partition. This is important since XP uses an individual Recycle Bin for each drive and partition, not just one as is the case in some Windows versions.
    • Temporary Remote Desktop Files

These files are the result of using the Remote Desktop utility. If you repeatedly use Remote Desktop with the same computer or group of computers, leaving these files intact will maintain the speed of future connections. Deleting them will necessitate downloading the remote systems icons and wallpaper the next time a connection is established.
    • Setup Log Files

These are really pretty useless unless you have a specific reason to go back and see what occurred during XP setup.
    • Backup Files For Previous Operating System

I mentioned this category earlier as one you may not have, but if you did upgrade from a previous Windows version and selected the option to be able to uninstall XP, it may well exist. It takes some major hard drive space to copy all the files necessary to back up a previous system's core files, drivers, etc. This entry can range anywhere from a few hundred megabytes up to a gigabyte, so unless you are still considering dumping XP this is a good category to select.
    • Offline Files

Users with slower dialup connections and those using laptops frequently make websites they use often available offline. Depending on how many levels deep you save the sites, they can eat up gigabytes of hard drive space very quickly. Worse than taking up space, the sites often contain outdated information. A good candidate for deletion.
    • Compress Old Files

Unlike the other categories, Compress Old Files doesn't delete any files from the drive. It compresses files that Windows hasn't accessed for a specified period of time. The files are still available, but there will be a slight increase in access times because the files will be decompressed the next time they are accessed. Note that when Compress Old Files is highlighted an Options button appears. Clicking it will allow you to set the number of days to wait before an unaccessed file is compressed.

There may be other categories that appear in your Disk Cleanup window, but in all cases, highlighting the item will display an explanation of the category in the Description area.
    More Options Tab

In addition to the categories that appear on the Disk Cleanup tab, the More Options tab offers additional opportunities for freeing up hard drive real estate. There is nothing on this tab that isn't available elsewhere within XP in stand alone fashion, but having them grouped here does serve as a convenient reminder.

In Windows XP there are three choices available on the More Options tab: Windows Components, Installed Programs, and System Restore.
    • Windows Components

The Cleanup button in the Windows Components section launches the Windows Components Wizard. Select a general category of components and drill down using the Details button to locate the desired Windows component.
    • Installed Programs

The Cleanup button in the Installed Programs section opens the Add/Remove Programs dialog box. Any installed program can be removed by selecting the individual program and clicking the Change/Remove button. You cannot batch programs together to be removed. Each removal operation must be treated as a separate entity.
    • System Restore

Clicking the Cleanup button in the System Restore section opens a dialog box where it asks if you are sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point. The difference between using this option and going directly to System Restore is that you have no option to selectively delete restore points with this method. It's "all but most recent" or nothing when accessed via Disk Cleanup. Click Yes or No depending on your choice.
    Post Disk Cleanup Procedures

Using Disk Cleanup will almost certainly rid your system of a substantial amount of unneeded files. You could stop here and not suffer any ill consequences, but there are a lot of gaps and empty spaces on the hard drive where the files were removed. This would be an excellent time to run Disk Defragmenter to organize the hard drive into contiguous sections. The hard drive heads will spend less time seeking all the pieces of a file and you'll see another performance boost.

    Blue Screen fix by Moongrave:

If You have problems with "Generic host Process for Win32" or bluescreen issues, here You can find a solution.
Root called W32.Wargbot makes it. It goes through 135 and 445 ports.

First we need to download Windows Worms Doors Cleaner, it will block ports for rootkits and any kind of malware. Next step is to change all of options from "Disable" to "Enable", then we need to restart PC.
After reebot ports should looks like this (NetBios can be yellow):

Error Codes are recieved when the client loses synchronization with the servers. Gameguard detects the loss of sync and kicks you from the game with an Error Code.

Please make sure no other processes are running while playing Cabal (upload process list from task manager), that your internet isn't having connection problems (run a tracert), your drivers are all up-to-date (update via provider's site), your PCs meet the minimum specs and that your clients are all cleaned of corrupt files.

Process explorer can be helpful when checking what processes are doing what, so it's advisable to download that and upload the screenshot from that if you need help.

    Checking for connection issues:

    Start -> Run... -> "CMD /k tracert www.cabalonline.com"
    Start -> Run... -> "CMD /k pathping www.cabalonline.com"

    Upload those screenshots when finished.

If you keep disconnecting can you please also perform a google ping and keep it running:

    Start -> Run... -> "CMD /k ping -t www.google.com"

Leave this running while you play; when you next disconnect check the CMD window for any fluctuations in the connection (time-outs etc.).

If you recieve time-outs frequently regardless of Cabal it could be a DNS issue. Instead, run the ping via IP:

    Start -> Run... -> "CMD /k ping -t 216.239.59.104"

And leave that running throughout your next disconnection.

If it's not a connection issue it will be a hardware/software issue. So please make sure your drivers are all up-to-date by visiting the manufacturers website and downloading the relevant driver(s). If that still doesn't work you can also try rolling back and using a slightly older driver (no, a 3 year old driver will not do - I mean up to 12 months difference).

Please also check your PC meets the requirements for running CABAL Online (Europe). If not I'd suggest upgrading the hardware that fails to meet the standards.

Finally you can also reinstalll your client. The fail-proof solution would be:

    1. Start -> Run... -> "msconfig" -> "startup" -> "disable all" -> Apply -> Reboot PC.
    2. Uninstall your client
    3. Delete from installation location (e.g. C:\Program Files)
    4. Delete from Recycle Bin
    5. Reboot PC
    6. Install fresh client (do not open the launcher afterwards)
    7. Apply all in one patch

NB I advised removing startup programs to reduce running processes that could interfer with the installation process. You can re-enable the processes once the installation task is complete.

Also, starting up programs in conjunction with Cabal may cause Gameguard to behave irrationally and treat any software being loaded as a hacking attempt - so take note of what you're loading incase you recieve an EC while doing so.
Starting up additional programs can also demand CPU resources that your PC doesn't have at hand because of Gameguard; in these cases the CPU refocuses its efforts on loading the program without regard for those already running - which can lead to broken uploads/downloads to and from the servers and desynchronization (which is then detected by Gameguard -> kicking you from the game).
