i am in jupiter and i think there is quite a few players that can speak english
but thats a bit strange for mercury server since it was the 1st server created :S

Maybe people just don't respond because of them not being interested in dealing with a lower level? Maybe..
All servers have many english-speaking players. It's just the fact that there are no americans here. People talk their first language if they get the opportunity, and since this Cabal version is only for europeans, that opportunity comes more or less often, as there are so many different languages in Europe.
Just find an english-speaking guild.

So I'd just shout out Pro Force shielder lvl 14 (This screams of failure already x_x) looking for a strong internation guild.. Seems more like they will lol over me :P I mean, I don't even know what SS or SB stands for but supposedly it's a decent skill.
Or just look around. Some guilds use shout chat for recruitment, so you can see there if the guild is english or national (if they advertise: neue deutsche gilde sucht... [or how do they say it in german] it won't be an international guild).
Yeah seen atleast one guild that tried to find members in german, i'm on mercury now and it seems alright, leveling is going fairly fast so far.
Just shout "Looking for a good, english speaking guild." and that's it. If you get one and don't like it, leave and join another. Simple.
There's plenty of english speaking people out there so it shouldn't be a problem.
Wicked, I guess i'll give it a lil' go.
Maybe one of you wouldn't mind answering this lil' question as well: Is it worth subscribing to the game to either premium/platinum? The extra bag space certainly seems nice but are the training dummys any good? Any other benefits?
i think mars, becouse lots of people are +20 24/26 of my friends talk english =p
Well, it's approx. 10 € for a month of platinum. Training dummys really help in skilling, although you can't gain more than 30% of skill rank there. The other bonuses (to skill exp, normal exp and alz drops I think, and then 1 inv page, 1 storage page and GPS warp, which means teleporting to a few spots) are nice and helpful, so if you want to spend money, go ahead and buy platinum. But you can certainly also do well without it.
