+1, I've always advocated character customization in any game. One of the first mmorpgs I played had 3 different looks for every class and that was it. You couldn't customize any feature other than choosing which standard look of the three you wanted. How am I supposed to feel unique among the other 10,000 people with the same exact look and gear as me? At least with character customization even with the same gear you can still argue about who looks better .

The more features you add the better, cabal still lacks a bit of customization nowadays although it was really good for the time it was released. I'd imagine this is also a game engine thing or something of the sort and thus not something easily changed. Still adding features that only you or very few will have amongst all players and a unique name is the first step to feeling good about your pride and joy in any game, your character. Gear helps but nothing in comparison to a characters unique look imo.

the thing i liked at cabal is the plain/simple concept. fast-paced action,small worlds,simple chars. i hate to much detailed sh*t. few days ago i tried D&DO and already got bored while creating a char with all the damn details. well,played for 30 min and deinstalled it again just because there is to much crap to do in that game.

Then leave your char like it is. It's no "must - do" after all.

Imo this thread tells a lot about how much attention all the suggestions get from GMs ;> Talking ("advertising") about other games, and the thread hasn't suddenly vanished :O

Anyways ontopic, I like the idea.. The cabal char creation is poor compared to other games. +1
