How to skill fast & smart

Default How to skill fast & smart

update:

this guide isn't as useful as it used to be. there is now a new skilling system without the special m2s&s2m skills. go combo way?

Ok,
Get yourself an Adept Set, skill exp+3 at least! dont settle for skill exp+2. also buy adept rings and adept amulet, if you are level 70+ also buy bracelet.

The best way to skill fast is to use combo, i dont mean 3 comboes, but 15+ combos can give you some really good skill exp bonus.

the problem with this method is that you also get regular exp, and you level up, so soon your adept set won't be any good. (because you will need to fight stronger monsters)
So here is the seconed best way to skill up: Boxing.

Untill you are level 50 always use skills and comboes and never use "normal attack".

Hopefully, when you will be level 50 you will have expert at something.

Ah yes, DO quests. they give good money and they dont mass up your skills.

When you are level 50, go to the port lux instructor. you better ask from a higher level player to help you get there.

when you are there buy one of the upgade skills (make sure you have the money).

if you want to level up your sword then buy magic to sword. (and if..then..).
*if you want to level up both sword and magic dont buy the skill, but it will also be two times slower...

now, remove all your weapons (swords+orbs+..)
and go kick low level monsters.
kick = attack them with fists WITH "normal attack".
low level monsters = monters that you can fight and that they almost dont hurt you AND monsterts that give you more than 0 exp per hit.

you can also buy some bad sowrd, like katana and use it. with it you can use buffs which are nice.

with this method you better use the "window mode" and while you are killing the monsters surf the web or something.

so, when you kick low level monsters with fists or bad sword it takes about 2 minutes to kill each monster and you get good skill exp (because skill exp = how many times you kick it) but almost NO regular exp..

level 72: (started seriously boxing at lvl 70)

* for usefull info that can help you with the combo way, read:

kicking mobs is quite slow.. I tried it and didn't work even.

Best way to skill up is to use the fastest casting spells, go to a place where u can combo at least 11 hits per mob.... Equip Adept gear (preferably +4XP each), Armor, weapons, bracelets, rings..

Then combo away as much as you can (like u said)

Combo+Adept+Fast skill cast = Fastest way to skill.

It does require your attention, and you can't browse the web while doing it, but its wayyyy faster.

I've done over 50 skill levels in a few hours using this method, WITHOUT beads.

At least this method works quite well as a wizard. (Use arrows)

Boxing works but it's slooooooooooooow.
Combo'ing at lvl 70 in ghost ship group goes faster.
No exp, mobs have a ton of HP thus you can make long combo's without fearing to lvl up.

it's not that slow..
but the main advantage is that you basically can afk and watch tv or surf the web and not to watch the combo bar all day long.

adept stuff dont work with normal attacks...
thats because adept give+xp per skill and normal attacks isnt a skill(if u see it says normal attack...all others attack skill)

Adept works with punching.
Someone told me once. 1 used skill = 10 skill points and 1 punch = 1 sp.
No one knows how many SP are needed for 1 real skill points and they differ with each rank.
But punching needs to 5times as fast as combo'ing in order to get the same result.
I'll test it if I have time, at A master I can get a skill point in 11'ish minutes. I'll try it out for punching.

The only advantage that punching gives imo is the fact you'll gain both sword as skill XP.

Its a good method and how I got duel transcender before lvl75, and indeed how my friends did too. Its very time consuming but you wont every regret having great skills.

Skilling is always time consuming and always rewarding in the end. No matter what method you used. I tried this with my FB in OB a long time ago and I tried combo'ing with my current wizard and I prefer combo'ing. You won't notice that you're skilling and I can improve my comboskills, which will be useful at higher levels.

BTW if you punch, try punching +mobs, they have more hp and thus you can ignore the game longer.
Bugshark+, the +'ed cow in fort ruina are nice mobs to do it on as they dish out relative low damage imo.

Question

So to sum it up, you can skill level with normal attack if you meet the following criteria?

You have bought one of the Change Force skills, the one for the corresponding skill type you want to level and you gain regular exp while hitting the mob.

Tell me if I'm wrong.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And then a follow up question:

I skilllvl with dummys (ofc) and then on some tougher mobs that doesn't hit me to hard that has a decent amount of hp.
Without my orbs I whack the mob with the fastest novice skill i got (1.3sec Cast/cd).
The only downside with that what I've found is that you have to keep the game window selected (be in the game) for it to work.
I'm using adept gear!

Which one of the 2 would get me the most skillexp?

The time killing the mob is about 3 times faster when using normal attack but I felt that it didn't give me the corresponding skillexp as with skills.

Maybe I would gain more skillexp over the same time as when using skills if i use normal attack.

I guess I'm not convinced enough that normal attack is this good, help me to sort things out please.

Hey is this Zman from BlackDragons guild. If so talk to Suijin about this. He was trying what you told him but it didnt work. And it doesnt seem to work for me. Does normal attacks really give you skill exp points.

Yes actually they do. And at lower ranks (regular/ expert) this works pretty well too, when you arent actually playing Cabal but doing something else and checking back like every 5 minutes or so. Dont know about higher ranks, i'm not there yet. Comboing is way faster though.

About adept: I guess adept only works when using skills, but i will test it.

To sum it up, if you arent using your computer only to play cabal this seems a pretty good thing.

Thumbs up

The normal attacking does work.

I'm a level 55 Blader, and i just get the 2 of the lowest level katanas and just normal attack Moscutters... Gives bout 5xp per hit, but the skill EXP levels EXACTLY at the speed of using skills against things.

So nice guide

1.- I´ve won a trascender being completer with master and regular skills...(Shadow shot and critical shot only, if he cant stand up, he cant attack, easy...)

2.- If u are an archer, use bm2 with normal attack for skill exp magic rise at high rate

3.- Skill without level is useless, rise both, you will need stats, hp, mp, access to new places..., lvl is important, more than you think... (Im 119).
